Field Sales App & Back Office ERP for Kitchenware Distribution

Built an end-to-end operations platform for DBenToby, a large kitchenware distributor (fridges, pots/pans, TVs, rice makers) selling across South Florida and other states. Replaced a broken manual process — reps noting out-of-stock items on spreadsheets, bringing them back to the office for re-entry — with a mobile field sales app and a full back office ERP system.

The Problem

The Challenge

DBenToby's sales reps visited retail stores across South Florida and other states, manually noting out-of-stock items on spreadsheets. They'd bring the lists back to the office where a secretary would re-enter everything, then pass it to the warehouse for fulfillment. This created massive back-and-forth, delays, errors, and zero real-time visibility into what was happening in the field.

1

Sales reps used paper and spreadsheets to track out-of-stock items in retail stores — no digital tools

2

Back at the office, a secretary had to manually re-enter all orders from the reps' notes — doubling the work

3

Warehouse had no direct connection to field orders — everything passed through the secretary as a bottleneck

4

No real-time inventory visibility — reps didn't know what was actually in stock while visiting stores

5

Invoicing, purchase orders, and backorder tracking were all disconnected manual processes

6

No centralized reporting on sales performance, inventory turnover, or outstanding orders

Before & After

Reps used spreadsheets, the secretary re-entered everything, then passed to the warehouse. We eliminated every manual step.

What We Built

Our Solution

1

Mobile Field Sales App

Built a React Native app for sales reps to scan UPC barcodes in-store, enter quantities, get supervisor signature on the spot, and submit orders — which auto-notify the back office secretary instantly.

2

Automated Order Flow

When a rep submits an order from the field, the back office secretary is notified immediately. She reviews and prints the invoice and warehouse receipt. The warehouse fulfills the order directly — eliminating the re-entry bottleneck.

3

Back Office ERP System

Built a comprehensive back office platform for managing inventory, estimates, sales orders, purchase orders, invoicing, backorders, and real-time reporting — replacing spreadsheets and disconnected tools.

4

Real-time Inventory & Offline Support

Connected the field app to real-time inventory data so reps know what's in stock. Offline mode ensures orders can be placed even in areas with poor connectivity and synced when back online.

We needed a way for our sales reps to place orders right from the store floor instead of writing everything on paper. 27nodes built us a mobile app where reps scan barcodes, build the order on the spot, and get the store manager's signature right on the device. Then it all flows to a back office system where our assistants manage and supply orders, sending them straight to the warehouse for fulfillment and shipping. This implementation bridged a huge gap — no more paper orders that took days to process. The turnaround is so much faster now, we're closing more sales, and the whole team is connected in real time. Really excited about what they built for us.
